Tarot spread
The Single Card Spread
One card drawn against one clear intention. The simplest layout in tarot, and the one most readers come back to.
How to lay it
Decide what you are actually asking before you shuffle. Write the question in one sentence, then draw a single card and set it face up in front of you.
Describe the picture before you recall the meaning. What is happening, who is in it, what is behind them, what is missing. The detail you notice first usually belongs to your question.
What it is good for
- A daily check in, read in a few minutes
- A single open question you keep circling
- Learning one card properly rather than many cards vaguely
